This scene was captured on film at sunset August 15, 2010 near Roseau, Minnesota as a fast-moving cold front pushed the clouds east at sunset.
After three days of overcast and rain, I’d noticed a thin band of blue sky far off to the west and knew that when the sun set in about 30 minutes, it would fall below the clouds and light up the sky, so I grabbed my camera and we headed out to watch from this sunflower field I’d noticed on my drive up from Minneapolis.
